EMILY. European mobile integrated location system

The project scope was the design, development and assessment of an innovative high performance positioning technology for the provision of location-based services. EMILY exploits terrestrial and satellite positioning data through hybridisation of a number of technologies like cell-ID, NMR, E-OTD, in telecommunication networks and satellite-based positioning. In addition the EMILY solution comprises a network component dedicated to minimise the cost of the location process within the requested quality of service, and allowing to choose the best-suited technologies to be used among the available ones.
