The role of Network Engineering during the lockdown

May 31, 2020

Members of the Department of Network Engineering participate in a campaign to highlight the role of network engineering during the current lockdown situation.

During the present lockdown, a lot of people are working from home, including kids and teenagers often connected with their schools, communications technologies, and especially, network engineering, become of utmost importance for our society. In this sense, faculty staff of the Department of Network Engineering of the UPC contribute to disseminate good practices and tips for better use of ICT tools.

Such is the case, for example, of Dr. Daniel Guasch and Dr. Rafael Vidal who publish through the EPSEVG a series of good practices to set an ICT environment at home.

With the hashtag #GràciesTelemàtica, other members of the Department publish materials related to the use of computer networks in different social media through different UPC-related accounts. Dr. Eduard Garcia, for example, publishes a series of tips to improve a domestic Wi-Fi on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Linkedin. Antoni Oller also brings network engineering to Twitter with a thread with tips for improving productivity while working from home.
