PhD defenses of Telematics Engineering PhD program students during December 2011

In December 15, Xavier Sánchez Loro carried out the defense of his PhD, entitled “Context-aware negotation: the basis for ubiquitous service provisioning”, coadvised by Josep Paradells Aspas and by Jordi Casademont i Serra (both professors of the Department).

On the other hand, in December 16, Victoria Beltrán Martínez defended her PhD, entitled “Contributions to presence-based systems for deploying ubiquitous communication services”, coadvised by Josep Paradells Aspas and by Henning Schulzrinne (professor at Columbia University).

Finally, in December 19, Carlos Ramírez Casañas defended his PhD, entitled “Contribuciones a la gestión de los recursos radio en redes móviles celulares de radio paquetes con soporte de calidad de servicio”, coadvised by Josep Paradells Aspas and by Rafael Pérez Jiménez (professor at Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria).

All three PhD students obtained the highest mark (i.e. excellent cum laude) for their PhDs.
