Regulations for students

The requirements students must comply with in relation to the doctoral programme are specified in the UPC’s Academic Regulations for Doctoral Studies.

For students, these requirements apply with respect to the following:

• Admission to the doctoral programme.

The doctoral programme in Network Engineering offers a maximum of 10 places for newly admitted students each academic year.

The following are the most important points to bear in mind:

Requirements related to the admission of students to the doctoral programme

In accordance with Royal Decree 99/2011, of 28 January, which regulates official doctoral degrees, to be eligible for admission a student must hold an official Spanish bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and a master’s degree.

However, applicants who are in one of the situations referred to in sections d) to g) of Chapter 4 of the UPC’s Academic Regulations for Doctoral Studies (p. 5) are also eligible for admission.

In all cases, applicants must have a minimum of 300 ECTS credits (or equivalent) for their bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as one of the following:

1. A minimum of 60 ECTS credits identified by the programme as an admission requirement, offered either by a master’s degree associated with the doctoral programme or directly by the doctoral programme. Up to 45 of these 60 credits may be based on validations.

A master’s degree in the same area of knowledge (ICTs), as determined by the academic committee of the doctoral programme.
